It was also known locally as Ray Heath's Office, he owned the Junk Yard next door. Folks gathered the parts they needed then stopped down at the bar to pay Ray.

Herman Brooks' farm house, or what was left of it. This was just the back of the massive house that use to stand there. The front of the house, the barns and well were all lost to General McPHerson Highway, never finished, but later known as Rt 20... now Oberlin Elyria Rd.

Wishbone Restaurant, "Location, Location, Location" was not true here, middle of nowhere and I have never seen anything like it since. It was the best food around, the constant line of cars just waiting to get into the parking lot, was a testament to their food, a normal sight for many years. After the owner passed and it reopened as the Crystal Inn, it was never able to rebuild that following.

This is around the time Charles Rook bought the school and made it into his family home; they lived there into the 80s or 90s till him & his wife passed away.

This was still owned by Earnest & Thelma Brooks at this time with his brother Charles and Ed Clark building the next new addition in back. Out front was the most beautiful flower gardens, covered easily an acre or two.
