Kennebec County, ME

190 Windsor Road, China, ME. This home looks much the same, but has been modernized. It now sports modern beige vinyl siding, a new front door, and the windows have been replaced (the picture window at the left front is now a trio of regular-sized windows). The same driveways and walks are used today though the one to the right of the home is now paved. The bushy looking tree in the front yard has since matured, and a two-bay story and a half garage was built behind the home to the left of where the clothesline was in this picture.

200 Windsor Road, China, ME. This home still looks very similar to how it was seen here, but has been updated to look like an older style. The siding is now a clapboard-style red siding, and the shutters were removed. The covered portion between the house and garage was enclosed, and the garage now has a standard door instead of a garage door. A large, two-story shop was built to the left of the garage in this photo (would be hugging the left edge of this picture), and a long driveway leads to a home at the back end of the lot to the right.

I believe this is the corner of Windsor Road and Homestead Lane, China, ME. It appears that the home at the center still stands, but has been heavily modified over the years. All of the front windows and doors seen here, including the entryway, were removed and replaced with a pair of modern window about where the door and first window on the left are. The enclosed porch was extended towards the front to include the bulkhead, and the entire property was wrapped in cedar shingles. The area behind the parking area is now heavily wooded, and the dirt road seen here leads to a home well back off the road.

230 Windsor Road, China, ME. This home still stands, but has been altered. The roof above the double-windows at the right has been lifted and a small gable face now faces the road. The windows were replaced with a single, wider window, and an awning/roof was added over the door on the first floor. A one-story, two-bay, flat-roof garage addition was built off the right side of the home, and at some point a larger 2+ story barn/garage was built in the wooded area at the far left of this photo. The front of this house is much less wooded today, but the rear remains heavily wooded.

246 Windsor Road, China, ME. This home still stands and looks much the same as seen here. The older barn at the far rear was lost at some point, but a larger gambrel barn was built in its place. The fields behind the house have been allowed to grown in, and the lot is more heavily wooded today.

252 Windsor Road, China, ME. Aside from new windows this home looks very similar to as seen here, but has been modernized. The windows were updated to 1-over-1 double-hung ones, and the front awning has since been removed and replaced with a small front porch/stair set. A two-bay garage has been built at the far right (where the shed is in this photo), and a larger 2-story, 3-bay gambrel barn/garage was built to the left side of the driveway .

Approx. 314 Windsor Road, China, ME. The long garage/shop building still stands, and can be identified by the large windows at the rear right, though a few have been removed - the rearmost two are still there, the next one was removed for a doorway, and then the next two are still there (with the front most one being removed). The small window is still there, and another was added closer to the front of the building (as was a doorway). The windows on the second floor have since been replaced with doors, and the drive, as well as the grassy area between the drive and the two buildings has since been paved. The rear building still stands, with the only major change being an additional smaller garage bay built to its right. The trailer is long gone. The large field to the left of the garage is now an extension of Chadwick Hill Cemetery.

366-368 Windsor Road, China, ME. This home still stands, but has had an addition built off the rear and a new garage built behind the home. The front still looks much the same as seen here other than the right windows, which were replaced by a three-part picture window at some point. An addition was built off the rear right portion (where the second roofline starts here), and the windows seen in that part were replaced with a sliding glass door that least to a small deck off the right side of the home. At the end of the looping drive there is now a garage, and the lot is generally more wooded/landscaped. This includes two mature trees that block clear view of much of the house from the road during the summer time.

Approximately 863 Ridge Road, Windsor, ME. This home still stands, but is difficult to see from the road. The garage, barely visible here, is still standing as well, and the only notable change to the property is the roofing (which is not metal). The large trees in front and on the side of the driveway have since been lost, and replaced with faster-growing evergreens that now block much of the property from the road.
