Texaco gas station at the time of the photo, now "A+ Power Sports & Trailer Sales".

Originally Carl Riese's auto repair shop and the blue/white building was their Diesel truck repair shop. In the 1980's Carl sold it to Calvin Baker from Milwaukee who ran the main building as Safe Line bus company for only 4 years and the blue/white building was sold to Venhausen Garbage. Carl and his wife still lived in the home next door 626 E. Court St -Elkhorn. In July 1996 my husband Kevin Nichols and I (Barb Nichols) purchased the main building where we sold and rebuilt trucks with Southern Rust-Free Truck parts from Oklahoma and TX, sold trailers, installed truck accessories and snow plows. Our business was called A+ Parts but we specialized mainly in trucks so we changed it to A+ Trucks. In 2002 we added Polaris recreational products and changed the name to what it is today, A+ Power Sports & Trailer Sales, LLC. Since then in 2006, 2018, 2020 and 2021 we added 4 more additions to complete it to the size it is today and the original building is no longer. Three of our children run the dealership with us and we are excited to see what the future holds. Also in 1998 Roth Fence purchased the blue/white building, added an addition and we purchased it from them in 2008. Carl lived in the house next door until we purchased it from him in 1998 when he moved to TX to live with his son, Carl was in his early 80's. We also purchased 630 E. Court Street -Elkhorn (North of the house) in 2017 which is being leased by Circle of Friends non-profit as a resale shop. In 2011 we purchased the 3.3 acres of land behind the welcome to Elkhorn sign East of 630 E. Court -Elkhorn which borders Market Street. Carl Riese and his family once owned this whole corner and now we have purchased it back piece by piece over the past 30 years.
