This is a photo of the Ota Hefner house on Seebert Lane outside of Hillsboro, WV. The house was built in 1939. The barn was built many years before that. Ota's great grandson, David Kershner and his wife now live in the house. The house looks the same. The coal house has been torn down but the other buildings remain. The fence that separates the pasture (in line with the house yard fence) has been torn down. I actually don't remember this fence. This property and others beside it were owned by my great grandparents and was called The Lewis Land and/or Little Corner. The property came to a peak. There used to be a road that ran beside the house to the left, along the fence, back through the fields and to a spring and joining a main road. So it made a big block.
