My wife and I bought this house in 2014. We knew it was formerly a one room schoolhouse in my hometown of Dover, PA. After we moved in, I was researching the history of the house and found a local history book from our township's 250th anniversary. There was a section about one room school houses and an article was written about each of the 16 schoolhouses that were used long ago. The article written about this schoolhouse, Shaffer's Schoolhouse, was written by my Great Grandmother. I found out that she went to school in my house, starting in 1919.
