Kauffman's grist mill constructed 1786 and associated farmstead complex. Silver lake was the mill-pond which fed the head race to power the mill. The mill race is still intact. Tail race used to feed into Bennett's Run towards town. The cross gabled folk Victorian style house was constructed by Civil War veteran following the war - circa 1870. All buildings extant.
