4415 W Market St-This is the Five Mile House. The house and barn remain but it is no longer a farm.
The House wasn’t the Five mile house—-The tavern, The Inn of the White Horse, that Peter Wolf built in 1762 was. It was located where the bicycle shop/Wonder Windows business is currently. The tavern was razed in 1951. The porch which was later enclosed was removed in 2023 and the facade is not quite finished yet, but a pent roof was added as it did have a pent in 1756. The photo indicates an ell at the back of the house where there now exists just a stone foundation. The larger rectangular frame building in the far right is no longer there. If you lived here OR are a member/descendant of the Peter Wolf family, you are invited to the Johan Peter Wolf Reunion 2024 on Sept. 14th at the house. Please text 717-991-3875. to RSVP. It’s FREE. COME AND MEET YOUR PAST SO YOU CAN BEST PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE.
This maybe the Peter Wolf house which is still located on the north side W Market St. The large barn to the right still exists but is now White Rose Hobbies 4401 W Market St York. This house has been commonly know as the Five-Mile house.
