This is the center of the village of Pillow in Dauphin County. State Route 225 is known as Market Street when it passes through Pillow. This photo shows the buildings on the north side of the street (house numbers 188 to 168 from left to right) as well as the roofs of some of the houses on the south side (189 to 167 from left to right). The building with several cars parked out front is the Post Office. The square white building with the dark roof on the lower left side of the photo is the National Hotel Pillow, which was established by John Boyer in 1854. Union Street runs to the top of the photo. This photo was taken facing NNW.
