Flower and Cook Observatory in Malvern, PA. The University of Pennsylvania
My husband worked for the U of P astronomy department from 1972 to 2005 . We moved into that house in 1982, and had to move out in 2004. When we moved in the pool liner had collapsed in many years prior, and a tree was growing out of it. The university had sold all that property by 2004, and all that you see there is gone. The new property owner had no interest in maintaining the observatory, though that was his initial proposal. The house he built for himself sits down in a hollow passed the house you see here. From the road it now looks like a very pleasing park entrance. It was a spectacular place to raise children. They had untold wondrous adventures in those woods. I miss it dearly.
I used to do some mowing/field mowing here in the mid to late seventies or early eighties!
