Bump. I wonder what the monument is? The monument is a tapered obelisk about 8 feet tall with an open section near the top with something inside. There are three rows of text below the opening.
This is the SW corner of the intersection of Yale Rd, Alliance Rd and Rt 14. Unfortunately this was all torn down before 1994. See photo 21 for the house that may have been part of this property. It is in the upper left corner and is still there today.
EDIT: (4/19/2023) I found an 1874 Atlas map, which shows a school on this corner. I contacted a local business owner who confirmed that lower portion of the concrete monument is still there, visible in Google Streetview, (EDIT 4/22/2023) the text on the monument is "YALE SCHOOL BELL 1892-1917 "
Mystery solved! The 1900 maps calls it school No. 6 in (Atwater Township). I wonder if the historical society has the bell?
