My grandparents ran the Co-op Printshop in the basement of this building during the 1950s and 1960s. I spent many hours "helping" as a child; collating, folding, pretend typing, pretend typesetting, rearranging the display case and making party hats and cards with scraps of paper. Would earn a dime from collating and go up the stairs into the Royal Blue Grocery (one-story part of building) to buy a bottle of Orange Crush. Still remember seeing my little brother and my grandparents' dog Zipper sleeping in the newsprint boxes.
