This is my grandparent's farm. They purchased this place in the 50's. My mom and dad bought it in the late 70's. We moved there when I was 5 years old. My parents still live here. I helped renovate this place a few years ago. Many of the main structures are still there today, including the house and barn. The building seen on the left side of the photo beside the corn crib was the original house on this place. It had been added on to. It is a trapper's log cabin and probably one of the oldest structures in Marion county. It is still standing thanks to our renovation. The small building behind the machine shed is a sugar shack. It was used to make maple syrup, since the woods beside the farm was full of sugar maples.
