Looking NE. MO Hwy N bottom of photo. Old rock gas station middle far right. Feed store with grain bin behind. Fire Dept. and telephone building across street from feed store. Mrs. Archer lived in the house at very bottom of photo. Mrs. Pryor (then Randy Ward) lived in house on left with black roof. Mr. and Mrs. Rush (my grandparents) lived in house far left middle. Jeff Rush purchased the house and refurbished it after our grandparents passed away.
The long, narrow house (shotgun house) that is just above the grain bin, at one time housed the local telephone switchboard. My grandmother was an operator for a time. One bay fire station is on far upper right of photo next to the tree. Building to the left of the fire station is the telephone building. Next building, which you can barely see, is the post office.
