This is currently my house at 700 Arboretum Blvd. The landscaping has gone to the wayside, but the interior of the house is completely renovated. I can't imagine these houses will be here much longer, due to higheay expansion.
Hello Nicholas,
Are they expanding Highway 13? Have they contacted you about eminent domain in the area?
Hi Nathan.
Hwy 5 is expanding to four lanes and there will be an additional left turn lane on the north side of the intersection for turning east onto 5 from Rolling Acres.
At this time, the project has only offered property owners the "opportunity" to sell voluntarily, and I believe they now own all of my neighbors houses, but taking that offer would be a terrible decision for us, as we bought when interest rates were incredibly low and we've invested a lot in renovations.
With that being said, the approved changes to the intersection will make access to our property unreasonable and that's one of a few factors that will adversely impact the value of our property. Naturally, we depend on having a home that's reasonably accessible.
For the meantime, I guess we just continue to navigate thru uncertainty until we find the path that leads to just compensation.
Best regards. Nick
