The "Hitching Post Restaurant" was in that barn, the big pond, pine trees and house was not there in the early 1970's when the restaurant was operating, not a tree in the fields back then, the old pond in the background was built in the earlier 1900's. This barn was originally owned by the Egerer family who had a farm on Skanee Road next to Indian Cemetery Road and owned this barn and land before the Olsen Family purchased some of it in the 1970's. I remember snowmobile races being held in the fields as a youngster, the fields were much larger than what is in the photo. The field went approx a quarter mile to the South and another 100 yards or so to the North. This place is about a half mile up Indian Cemetery Road, take a right on Olsen Road, you will see the barn. I remember the Egerer brother working at that farm and then driving down past our farm on Indian Cemetery Road on the tractor pulling a wagon of hay.
