Photo 47-YAL-1

This is Ransom District Library, in Plainwell, Michigan, where I am currently employed. It was built in 1973. An addition was built on the right side (west side) of the building in 1988. This year, the community approved a bond issue to build a new library in front of the current one. The area with the shrubs and gentle slope will be within the footprint of the new building by 2020. Unfortunately, the old library will have to come down to provide parking. It is a sad thing, but the community overwhelmingly supported staying on the same property, so something had to give. I'm glad to know that there are aerial photos out there to preserve its history.
