This is our home and it now houses the Martin Area Resource Center. The factory burned down shortly after we moved to Martin in 1973. The commercial property contains my husband's former woodworking business, the food bank, a fairly new storage barn for household items and other storage for the resource center.
The house has been remodeled and the walls were paneled in wood plants - they now are drywalled and probably better resemble the original walls. Occasionally we are visited by one of the deceased ancestors, I haven't figured out who it is yet but we are living together without any serious incidents. Occasionally I have to remind the person who exactly is in charge here and then things quiet down again. One of the original oak trees was hit by lightning and half of it is gone. One maple tree bit the dust and we have one maple that the racoons consider their birthing tree. We love our home and the fact that it serves the community as well.
