400 East Church St., Frederick. The building was built around 1891. Ox Fibre Brush Company had the building from 1902 until operations ceased on Nov. 30, 1967. At the time of the photo Goodwill Industries owned it and used it as a donation processing facility. In August of 1979 a fire started by a lightning strike caused nearly a million dollars' worth of damage. I watched the firefighters from near the Frederick Fairgrounds for several hours. Apartments are now in several of the buildings on the site.
