House on right was an apartment house with the owners the Allison's living down stairs and my parents rented the upstairs in Feb. 1954. Had stairs on outside on left hand side leading up to second floor. There was a real nice porch with roof in front upstairs that was entrance to our apartment. I had started school first grade in Libertytown, MD in Sept, 1953. When we moved, I was transferred to Winfield Elementary School first grade. My little brother wanted to go home on our first night there. We had lived in a tenant house in Frederick county on a farm. My dad worked on the farm from 1943 to Feb. 1954. He quit his job on farm and started a long employment at Springfield State Hospital. My mother had started there in 1953 and was able to get my dad a job there also. In 1958 they both were accepted into the hospital LPN program and graduated in 1959. They became LPN and worked most of their time in Hubner building at hospital. The building on left hand side had been a garage and had 2 apartments upstairs. In one apartment lived Betty and Preston Wright. The garage was owned by a Mr. Frizzell and his wife and they lived in the other apartment upstairs. Preston and Betty Wright also both worked at Springfield and thus a long friendship with my parents began. In 1960 to 1962 Preston Wright, my uncle Stewart Seitz and my dad Alfred Divers build the home I now currently own on Buckhorn Road. Preston Wright build many homes in the Winfield/Taylorsville area. He and his wife owned the Tick Tock Ceramic building across from Winfield Fire Company and the two houses to the right of Tick Tock which is now Train shop and music shop. The garage and building are now a plumbing company.
