I have so many great memories here at the Tackett Family Home! This is where I learned all about being a country boy!! Mary L. Stewart-Tackett was my Grandmother's Sister. She'd make homemade apple butter in the driveway in a big kettle. She churned butter, canned food & kept it in the cellar built into the side of the hill behind their home. We'd cut & bail hay in the field beside their home where other houses now stand. We'd milk the cows, Gather fresh eggs, plant & reap crops in the garden, butcher hogs & cows for fresh meat and wash cars in the stream running beside their home. I loved being rocked to sleep with the rain falling on their tin roof or the sounds of the creek flowing from a hard rain. We'd plant flowers in the flower bins on the front porch, play croquet in the front yard, catch lighting bugs in a jar and so much more! - Michael R. Brewer
