Photo 27-IBAR-28

The house in this picture is the house that my Grandmother grew up in. My siblings and I also grew up in this house. The barn in the picture is no longer standing. It was destroyed in a storm in January 2009. The building in the middle of the house and Barn was torn down sometime in 2002. The garage in the picture is still standing but with damages from the storm in January 2009. The building sitting directly behind the house was a smokehouse used to cure hams and other meats. It still stands. The house is in complete disrepair and is falling down. Where the gravity wagon sits to the right of the Barn is a mobile home that my parents purchased in 2001. The land that all of this sits on was originally purchased by my Grandmother's Uncle and Aunt sometime in the 1920's. The original farm was somewhere between 100 and 150 acres in size. There were a total of three ponds, one small stream and a creek. One pond remains but it is drying up. The small stream only holds water when it rains now. The creek still has water but not in the volume it once did. The Pine Tree that sits in front of the House is partially there still. A big chunk of it was taken out by the same storm in 2009.
