This is my Grandparents Darrell and Atha Akers Farm Located between Gravity and Sharpsburg Iowa. Was a Century Farm in our Family, was sold approximately 1 yr after this picture.
My name is Wylene Akers,Barker. I was born on this farm, and it became a cenntenial farm, meaning it was owned by the Akers family for over 100 years. My Great Grandfather. Benjamin Akers homesteader it. He was one of the last civil war veterans to live in Taylor County.I,m sure there have been many changes, but I moved away in 1957. I have many siblings that also were born, and raised there.
