My grandparents bought this farm in 1948. They did some remodeling and moved into the house in the later part of 1949, a few months after my parents married. Later,in about 1958, my uncle and aunt set up housekeeping here when they married and my grandparents moved into Walcott. In 1973 this farm was sold to French and Hecht and they built a wheel manufacturing plant along county road Y-40. What you are seeing here is the excavating tracks around the farmstead to move the dirt to the new factory site. Very shortly after this picture was taken these buildings were leveled.
