That's the old Metz School in the foreground, with the houses at the north end of the little town of Metz in the background in this photo looking north-northwest. Metz School graduated its last senior class in 1957 and the elementary closed at the end of the 1958-59 school year. My father, Stanley Gilbert, graduated from Metz in 1955; my paternal grandparents, Donald and Lelah Eyster Gilbert, graduated there in 1932.
