This farm was purchased by my grandparents Dorothy and Harold Clarkson in 1959 or there about. We lived in the house from 1962, and my mother continued to live there until her death in 2010. The house was sold in 2012 and the house has since been extensively remodeled. The barn was torn down in 1990 as it was falling down at that point. A new pole barn close to the house was built in the 70s - not in this photo. The house was built in 1901 after the barn was built in 1900. The original house was located behind the new barn, and was torn down with the building of the new house (which belonged at that time to the Newhouse family). The house was fitted with gas fixtures for lighting and heating in individual rooms. None of the trees in this picture are still there, with the exception of a pear tree that is visible near the chicken houses. You will also note a volkswagon bus that belonged to my brother Mark.
