This is the Yeddo General Store in Yeddo IN. The building on the left is the former Bank and was owned by Robert and Rita Cotton in the 1980's. In the background is a house that was the Sines/Rice house.

We moved to the south edge of Yeddo in 1948. At that time the elevator was busy with
farmers, backed up, with their grain in wagons. A John Deere Dealership was across the
road with a machine shop. Two active grocery stores--the owners lived within. One
owned by Harry and Geneva Keller and the other by Harold McCann, this store was also
the post office and gas station. The small building by the current building was the telephone office, which the attendant maned 24/7. Each summer there was a Yeddo Old Settlers function, just North in an open woods.

Ny great grandmother lived in Yeddo!

Grew up about two and half miles from Yeddo, on Kingman Road

Who was your great grandmother, David?

My GranDad and Grandma Clark lived in the telephone office and Grandma ran the switchboard.

I worked for Bill Powell when he owed the Yeddo elevator, stopped at the general store many times!!

I grew up in yeddo. My dad Ernest Rayphole worked at the elevator. My parents Ernest and Irene Rayphole also had the grocery store across from Harold McCanns. My great grandfather helped to settle Yeddo Bailes an Annie Rayphole.
