Gray's lived here. 61 to 75. Not sure who owned the place. I grew up here until 1975 after Dad passed, moved to Whitestown. We had a huge garden between the trees and road on the corner. Use to sell our vegetables to make extra money. It was located at the corner of Us 421, S Michigan road and S300 Whitestown road. Not 200. I attended Union Elementary School which was on Hwy 32 before new school was built where Abbitts farms used to be. In the picture is my grandfather's 48 Kaiser there was two old cars in the back. The outhouse, Maple trees, the house was actually 4 rooms with one light bulb fixture in each room. I believe the house originally was two rooms and then was added on plus garage. House back porch and root cellar. hand pumped well inside. but later electric pump was put in for the water from the well just near the field the round white lid is. House was demolished after 1976. The field would have field corn or soybeans growing. place now is a Nursery. The Woods are all built up with big homes, now.

Hi Terri! Thanks for sharing your memories of the property in Boone County! It sounds like you have so many vivid details from your childhood. Did your family do any specific type of farming on the property, like growing corn or soybeans? We'd love to hear more about your experiences and any other details you remember during your time there. It's fascinating to see how things have changed since the 1965 photo was taken.

Hi Alexis! The Corn and Soybeans were planted by the owners of the land, I believe? My parents rented the house and corner. but we did have a large garden, every year, the ground was black and fertile. grew fantastic Tomatoes! There was a lady that lived across the highway Pitts was her last name. She always had a nice garden as well. This picture brought back memories. Thrilled, found this site. Thank you.

Outside of Zionsville, Indiana. I grew up in the house. Vintage aerial brought back memories.
