An Amoco Food Shop, 2888 Book Road, Naperville, Illinois. Today, this area is now completely engulfed by suburbia. Both 95th Street, the street running across the photo from left-to-right (west-east), and Book Road are 4-lane roads. The station, today, is a BP shop and car wash. View looks north.

This photo is pretty accurate of the area back then. In the 70's when the Gas station went up, it was the only thing around in the middle of corn and bean fields for miles around. You wondered, "what were they thinking?"...I could easily ride my bike from our family farm down to this corner only having to worry about crossing route 59...which back then was much easier to cross! Back then the bike ride would take me about 10 minutes to make the 3.5 mile trip ...today you cant make it to 59 (on Wolfs Crossing) in 20 minutes due to heavy traffic. Life was much simpler....
