My parents, Earl & Elsie Sipp moved here from the Mossville area in the mid-50's with their 4 children. The white board fence (built in 1941) has been and continues to be a landmark/reference point for directions to the area (Dunlap is 2 miles north). The barn is canted queen construction from the mid-1800's and still stands strong, but the foundation is bad. It would make an excellent home if moved (contact me). Several of the outbuildings have now been razed. The entrance gate is VERY unique and I still have the mechanism but no one can figure out how it worked. I've consulted various Amish, the Farm Show people, etc. I wish there was an enlarged image of the entrance (possible?). The 40 acres is in the country and is between Peoria and Dunlap--the most desirable school district, and soon for sale. MANY wonderful building sites with privacy, and a lake potential for someone. Ideally suited for an estate minded creation. The only building left is the barn, large machine shed, 2 car garage, and the house.
