Looking NW into Chatsworth, Illinois. Walnut Street runs parallel to the Toledo, Peoria and Western through town. 4th Street is the road that you see crossing the tracks. 6th Street would be at the bottom of the picture. You can see a Hicksatomic and a Shell gas station at Walnut and 4th. Most of the buildings within the business district, for the most part, are still there, as are the buildings along Walnut. The large building and grain elevator along the railroad are gone. Walnut was the original alignment of U.S. 24 before the bypass was built.
