This is the NJ Cafe and truck stop. It was on US Hwy 66 2 miles south of IL 17 in Dwight IL. I-55 took this stop out when it was built. When going south from Dwight on I-55 you will go under a overpass for a country road. Just past the overpass you will see 2 ponds with houses. The pond that is closest to the overpass and I-55 is the pond in this picture. As you go south right there you are going over where the building, gas pumps and parking were. My connection to this place is that my mother Worked at this cafe in the early '60s. Picture #2 in this roll is a different view of this place.

Yes I have a connection! My mother also worked there in the later 50’s! Mrs. Viola (Michael) Porth! We lived a mile and 1/2 west . I met Joe Lewis there , when I was 2 years old.
