Elberta from highway 98 aka State Street. Building on left was once Benny's Cafe. He made barbeque pork in the fireplace, serving beer and BBQ sandwiches, very popular place when I was a kid. Later Conrad Krehling owned it, his brother Eli and his wife Rose continuing the food and beer with small groceries toward front. Later, Mrs. Noltensmeir and son Walter, Kenny ran it. Albert and Ophelia Mullet bought it, opening a florist and gift shop. Barbara Frienrich bought it to run a unique gift shop. Believe she is owner as of 2023

Hi Jeanette! Thanks for sharing your memories of Benny's Cafe in Elberta. It sounds like a special place! We would love to learn more about the vibrant community of Baldwin County in 1985. What other popular spots do you remember from that time? Any unique events or landmarks? Feel free to share more stories if you'd like. And if you have any questions about Vintage Aerial or if there's anything specific you'd like to know about the area, just let us know.
